The Model 9B Electric Switch Lock provides vital locking to prevent unauthorized or unsafe turnout operation, improving rail network safety.

Key Features

  • Secure electromechanical switch locking
  • Compatible with multiple switch machine types
  • Long history of field-proven reliability

Customer Benefits

  • Prevents unsafe turnout movement
  • Enhance protection against unauthorized access
  • Simplifies integration with existing switch equipment

Secure the Switch. Protect the Track.

The Model 9B SwitchLock can be electrically connected to the signaling system or controlled remotely by a dispatcher. When locked, a plunger drops into a lock rod that’s linked to the switch, derail, or other equipment – physically preventing it from being moved.

The Model 9B comes in two sizes: High Stand and Dwarf (Short) Stand. Its cast-iron base is mounted to the pedestal of the switch or directly onto the mechanism, depending on the configuration. The base includes two compartments: one for wiring and one for the locking plunger. A wire entrance plate or junction box can be added for wiring access. A grease fitting is included for easy lubrication of the plunger.
